MY SOUL

The Beauty of living Surrounded by Art

They say that “money is no object,” but it is never quite true.

Everything has a price and there are things that we can afford, while others are out of our reach. No matter who we are. But isn’t it why some things that we own are so precious to us? The fact that we invest so much of the money we earn in one object is certainly a proof of how much we desired it, in the first place. However, the most important part is that we still love it today, tomorrow, for always. Otherwise, it is just a bad investment that we can’t wait to get rid of.

Art is to be desired, loved and cherished

I became an art dealer while I lived in America. Far away from Italy, I longed for the History that I had left behind, in the land of beauty. I believe that I can qualify it as such, myself, since I have traveled the world extensively. I have had the chance to compare. And when it comes to beauty, you won’t find a larger quantity than in Italy. You catch it in the sun, as it shines its rays through olive trees. You can breathe it in the salty air, all along its coasts. You can feel it rising in your veins, as you visit the temples and amphitheaters left behind by the Roman and Greek civilisations. Yes, beauty lives everywhere in Italy.

In America, I desired beauty, and so I started to acquire it… for others.

That is when I started to understand what love really means. A strange way to grasp such a concept, I’ll admit, but it is nevertheless true. Sure, I had known my family’s love, but its weight was greater than the “benessere” that it brought me. I had seen love come to life, from my own belly, but it was also filled with bitterness, with too many memories attached for such a young woman as I was, then. And so, it is art that really thought me what love was. First, because the more artworks I came in contact with, the more I desired them. And then, as they stayed with me for a few days (or even longer for some of the works that I bought), I began to see the details. Yes, love is in the details. It always is. And as I understood the importance of each strokes of brush on the canvas, of each sliced pieces missing from a sculpture, I began to really appreciate them for what they were. Which is how I came to cherish them.

Let the Beauty come inside Your Home

My message today is a simple one: Open up to art and it will fill you with the glorious sensation that beauty can bring. I will be happy to find the right work of art, that will enable you to evade the monotony of life, whenever you glance at it. I will move the earth, just so that you can have that single element in your life, which brings you joy and happiness, every single day, by simply being there. I will do so because my love for art, will never be complete, until I find the next piece that will make someone happy. That is the power of art – unending beauty.
